Lewis Pugh is a ocean swimmer and advocate. He swims to awaken us to the realities of the our planet’s water that in danger. Whether in the North Pole or the river thames.
He is best known for undertaking the first swim across the North Pole in 2007 to highlight the melting of the Arctic sea ice. In 2010 he swam across a glacial lake on Mount Everest to draw attention to the melting of the glaciers in the Himalayas, and the impact the reduced water supply will have on world peace. And in 2014 he became the first person to complete a long distance swim in all the Seven Seas, a campaign he undertook to urge surrounding nations to create more Marine Protected Areas.
His approach is graceful but his message is powerful.

make its mark on our modernconscious world.
Marina’s star rating in the art, performance and awareness
worlds has been on the ascent for some time now. Her work has been stretching
our perceptions of our mind, body, spiritual interconnection through extreme
‘The Artist is Present’ at Moma, her last show there, was a huge hit. A 736 hour and
30 minute static, silent piece, in which she sat immobile in the museum’s
atrium while spectators were invited to take turns sitting opposite her.
One chapter from that work – ‘Marina and Ulay’ – will never be
The Institute, designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA, will open
on the site of a former 1929 theatre in Hudson in upstate New York and has been
crowd funded by 4000 investors including Lady Gaga and Jay Z.
